I'm very fond of the Celtic Christian people, primarily those who lived from around 500 to 1,000 AD. The ordinary town and country people, and especially the monastic men and women, were very committed to the concept of Eternal Life. Their lifestyle was built around this one goal - to go to Heaven and be there with Christ and His Saints forever. That hope influenced the behaviour of every moment of work, play, socializing and prayer. But the beautiful thing about their brand of Christianity was that it was not fanatical or fundamentalist. It was very holistic. They didn't have a fear or mistrust of nature, an attitude that many Christians seem to have inherited. The Celts saw the presence of God as the source and life of all that lived. Yes, they did understand that nature was flawed and imperfect, but still the evident goodness of the Creator, especially since Jesus' death brought in a new order, gave them a supremely positive attitude to it all. Balance.

I'm Irish, so my favourite Celts are the Irish! But the English, Scottish, Welsh, French and Spanish branches played their part, too. I love the stories of the Irish men and women saints. Even the weird legends are beautiful and have a wonderful lesson to teach. I hope, with this website, to encourage you to look into the wealth of spirituality that Celtic Christianity has to offer. I believe we are all meant to become Saints. What is a saint? Nothing more than a 'normal person', a person who is happy with all the God does. Are we really meant to be saints? Well, Jesus said 'Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect'. So, yes!

Have a look through the links throughout this site. There's a lot of information here which I hope will help you to be truly happy and healthy.

Briefly, two more points about my spirituality - I'm a member of a monastic community of Roman Catholic men and women called 'The Servants of Love'. Read more about that in lifestyle above. And, I love the Contemplative Spirituality of the Spanish Mystic, St. John of the Cross.

My plan is to keep this page updated with reflections, poetry, prayers, meditations and articles on health to help you get the most out of this fantastic prelude to eternity we call life. As a great saint once said - 'All the way to Heaven is Heaven too'.
